SUMMARY:2026 April Meeting
DESCRIPTION:April 16\, 2026Chapter Meeting \n \n \n \n Topic \n \n \n \n New and creative solutions to mechanical systems help innovate the world when it comes to refrigeration and energy conservation\, but are they really ethical? Ethics in engineering is something that should always be considered. From engineering new mechanical systems to contracting\, ethics helps to prioritize public safety\, health\, and welfare above all other considerations.  As a society that strives to be good stewards of the world’s resources\, we are expected to be committed to the code of ethics. ASHRAE 1.140.001 adopts these ethics as a foundation for better practice and decisions. These resources can even teach us how to recognize bias / conflicts arise and how to handle or avoid them.  								\n \n \n \n Speaker Info \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n This month our chapter welcomes JuIia Timberman the ASHRAE Region V Director and Regional Chair as our presenter. Julia works as a sales engineer for Air Control in Columbus\, OH. Julia is an HVAC engineer and PE in the state of Ohio\, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University. Julia has 20+ years’ experience in the HVAC industry spanning the contracting\, engineering and sales sides of our industry. JuIia became involved with ASHRAE early in her career and has been actively involved ever since.  For 10+ years she served as a chapter officer for the Columbus chapter\, she has also served as the regional membership promotion chair\, she now serves as the Region V Director and sits on the Board of Directors for ASHRAE.  In 2018\, JuIia attended the ASHRAE winter conference in Las Vegas which introduced her to TC 1.7 – Business\, Ethics and Legal Matters.  For there she discovered her passion for presenting ethics to ASHRAE members. For the last 2 year she has chair that technical committee and has been referred to as the local “resident expert” for engineering ethics. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Lunch \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Professional Cost: $18\n \n \n \n \n Student Cost: free (sponsored by the chapter)\n \n \n \n \n Check-in: 11:30AM EST / 10:30AM CST\n \n \n \n \n Lunch/Program: 12:00PM EDT / 11:00AM CDT\n \n \n \n \n Papa Vino's Italian Kitchen 5110 Edison Lakes Pkwy\, Mishawaka\, IN 46545\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n Lunch Registration\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Dinner \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Professional Cost: $20\n \n \n \n \n Student Cost: free (sponsored by the chapter)\n \n \n \n \n Check-in: 6:30PM EST / 5:30PM CST\n \n \n \n \n Dinner/Program: 7:00PM EDT / 6:00PM CDT\n \n \n \n \n BullPen Bar & Grill1013 W Lincoln Hwy\, Schererville\, IN 46375\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n Dinner Registration
