Electrical Engineering for Mechanical Engineers and Architects

What are Volts and why do they matter? What do I need to look for when checking if a site has the power for my project?

For our November meeting, Alex Gidcumb of Millies Engineering Group will be presenting an introduction to electrical design concepts targeting mechanical engineers and architects. He will be discussing the basics of electricity and power and real world examples showing initial system selections. Topics covered will include voltage, electrical phases, power, equipment ratings, service considerations, and low voltage systems.

About Alex

Alex Gidcumb is a project engineer with close to 4 years of experience as an MEP consultant, primarily in power distribution and lighting design. He graduated from Purdue University Northwest with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a concentration in power and energy. His ability to motivate, instill confidence in others, and expertise on a multitude of projects has made him a force in the MEP industry. He is presently working at Millies Engineering Group as an accomplished electrical engineer.
