Welcome to the new year of programs for the Northern Indiana Chapter of ASHRAE!
We hope everyone has had a restful summer, because this year’s calendar is full of presentations, social events, fundraisers, and new initiatives. Our kick off meeting will be in September with Bill Hromada of Millies Engineering presenting on the topic of HVAC Design to meet Net Zero requirements. Meetings will be held at Potowatomi Zoo in South Bend and Millies Engineering in Munster again this year.
We are also looking forward to our fourth Clays for Credit Hours on October 11th. We’ve had 3 successful events so far, and our goal for this year is to continue to sustain the scholarship fund, and award at least one scholarship by the end of the first semester!
One of the big new initiatives has been to firm up our presentation schedule further in advance so you know what topics are coming up that you want to watch out for. We’re happy to have the calendar of topics for the year completely mapped out right now, with speakers identified for many of the presentations already.
We’re excited to be planning on welcoming the ASHRAE society president Ginger Scoggins in November. She’ll be making a trip through Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio that month, so if you aren’t able to catch her with our chapter you should have an opportunity at a neighboring chapter. The details of that trip aren’t finalized yet, so we don’t have the exact date, but we’re hopping to have a good showing at a nice venue.
And finally, as you can see from this page we’ve rolled out a new website! The new site is hosted on WordPress and should help the chapter leadership pass along information more consistently. One of the things that will be coming with this is a new email address sending our newsletter and reminder emails. To ensure you get emails, please add firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book. We’ll also have a new ticketing system for the meetings which will help you know exactly when and where the meeting is, and streamline the check in process. We ask for your patience while we continue to update the site. If you see a page that doesn’t have useful text, it should get updated soon. If you would like to help with any of the modifications, please feel free to reach out to Brad White.
